Perfectly situated, The gardens and the new swimming pool were excellent. The staff were all very helpful and we especially liked the patio overlooking the bay.
Lovely room lovely setting beautiful view, great service good food friendly staff.
I was not anticipating being in Jersey that night and had a hotel booked from the next day. Despite the fact the hotel subsequently booked is classed as one of the best on the island the SBBH was far better, We were sad to leave and hope to return (but at this price- rather than the full price)!
No. it was all very good. Dronks reasonable. Staff attentive.
Excellent location with fine facilities and helpful staff. Breakfast is a real treat and the service is of a very high standard.
Lack of air-conditioning in the bedroom and awkward to use in-bath shower.
Lovely location, very characteristic hotel and very helpful staff
The general location / sea-view was good. The gardens were good - it was nice to have the private sea-front area available. Impressed that the water is from bore holes especially at a tiime when there had not been rainfall for some weeks on the island.
Hardly any native english-speaking staff. Too much speaking in their own language by waiters. Too 'heavy' a presence of waiters (with some apparent arguments / disputes taking place) at breakfast - we would have preferred a buffet / help-yourself style as used at L'horizon, for instance, which would also save on staff costs.. Poached egg was severely under-done one breakfast. There were ants outside on the balcony. Absolutely no entertainment of any sort.
Frendly staff, good beach, good inside play area for toddlers breakfast and general service
Did not like 5pm deadline for children under 5years regarding eating in the restaurant. This effectively meant we ate elsewhere every night as we have a 14 month baby and did not want to leave him with a baby sitter whom is not employed by the hotel. No mention of thie above in Booked.net. The bedroom was good quality with the exception of the sound insulation which was poor. People could be heard through the Walls, ceiling, and the lightweight door to the corridor. You can buy those cheap doors at your local builders merchants for £35.00. Most hotels of 4star ratings have heavy 30/60minute fire doors at 3rd floor level with good sound absorption quality. The photos on the Internet do not show the road directly in front of the hotel between the picture of the garden and hotel front. There was no mention of the intrusive building works to the rear with the hotel or Booked.net. Starting at 8am through till 6pm on the build of the new swimming pool and gym using a tall overhead crane within meters of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for a toddler as there is a 25ft drop to the beach from the front garden and although it is fenced it is inadequate as far as a small child is concerned.
Ever since the elder sister of my best friend spent her honeymoon at the St. Brelade's Bay Hotel in the late '50's and invited we two teenagers to dine with her and her new husband (we were working the Season at the time) I wanted one day to stay. Having at last made it, loved it with reservations. My husband arrived at the hotel with the Jersey cough and only left the room to eat. So just as well we had a sea view with balcony. The room en suite was just about equal to to what we have at home, which is the least we expect when away, the view somewhat better but the cost, rather high.
I enjoyed the pool area but would have preferred the 'children' to use the pool provided for them and not have the main pool be taken over by them and their Dad's together with huge inflatables. Would also haave appreciated a spin dryer for swimsuits in the changing room but sure this will be provided in the new indoor pool.
Excellent location. Good facilities - will be even better when new gym and indoor pool complex opens. Wonderful location. Helpful staff.
Very poor dinner experience in restauarnt - 50 min wait for food and told that it was only to vibe expected as we ordered a La Carte
Everything ! Especially the front room upgrade that we had been informed of on our arrival.
Lovely hotel, lovely position, view from room excellent, staff friendly, great location.
All hotel staff very friendly and helpful, cleanliness first class throughout the hotel, gardens and pool area.A Great hotel to come to relax and chill out.
Main reason for booking was because it overlooks St Brelade's Bay, we booked a room with a balcony overlooking the bay which was fantastic, it was lovely to be woken by the sound of the sea each morning! The hotel facilities are very good, particularly the gardens and outdoor swimming pool.
During our stay the weather was quite hot so the garden sprinklers were on during the night. One of our party is a light sleeper and found the noise from the sprinklers rather disruptive.
An excellent hotel with good facilities lots of good rooms but our special offer room was very very noisy
Our room for above reasons
Barmaid in the bar was very good, and Maitre D was "Old School" good!
